International Instructors Course 2015

During the weekend of 13-15th March 2015 ITF Scotland hosted 100th IIC in the city of Aberdeen.

There were about 250 participant attending the event, including 9 participants from ETA.

The course was conduced by GM Boss, GM Marano, GM Lan.  There were many Masters present at the course: Master Tapilatu, Master Jedut, Master Loboda (all three were promoted to VIII degree during that weekend, congratulations! They are great practitioners and instructors!), Master Wallace, Master Hutton, Master Dunbar, Master Mc Nairn and many more.

It was good to catch up with old friends, get updated on technical stuff, and of course hear first hand stories about General Choi :).

Now everyone is getting ready for the next international events: Holland Cup 2015 held in Delft, Netherlands on 11-12th April 2015, and the World Champioships 2015 held in Italy on 26th May - 1st June 2015.

International Umpires Course 2015

Hungarian ITF (Peter Szasz) hosted International Umpired Course over the weekend 14-15th February 2015 in Budepest.

The course was conducted by Grandmaster Will Boss (Director of ITF and member of ITF Technical Committee), Master Katz (VIII degree Chairman of ITF Umpire Committee) and Master Hary Vones (VIII degree Member of the ITF Tournament Committee).

The course was held mainly in preparation for the upcoming World Championships to be held in May 2015 in Italy.  There were over 100 participants -  international instructors, Masters, coaches and umpires - from many countries.

The first part of the course was to introduce changes to the existing rules proposed by the ITF Tournament and Umpires committee.  The second part was spent on practical scoring in patterns and sparring using electronic system.  The third part was dedicated to going through protocols and scoring of power breaking and special techniques.

The course was well organised.  All participants were accommodated in the nice Danubius Health & Spa Helia hotel, where they had a chance (despite of a very busy course schedule) to use gym, spa and swimming pool.

There were several participans from England and Scotland (Master Gordon Wallace, Master Alex Dunbar, Master Thomas Denis, Master Ken Chesterman, Matt Gibbs, Paul Adams, Piotr Capaja, Jeff Brider). Elena Shutova, instructor of Bulldog TKD, was among them.  She returned from Budapest updated on the new competition and technical rules.
